Plans to demolish three 'eyesore' buildings at Stoneleigh Park have been signed off by district planners.

Mars Pension Trustees Limited has been given prior approval for the second phase of its demolition works on site, with former office and industrial units now set to be axed.

The firm said it hopes to remove the "redundant" buildings starting on February 5.

"These buildings are unused, untenantable and falling into [a] state of disrepair which is an eyesore to the estate," the application said.

"My client wishes to demolish these buildings to improve the character of the park for existing tenants."

Warwick District Council planners found no issue with the demolitions, and gave prior approval for the works.

"The council's environmental health officer has also been consulted and raised no objection to the proposal," a report from the local authority said.

The first phase of the demolitions was given the green light last year, with the council saying prior approval was not required for 13 further buildings to be knocked down.
