A parking scam has been revealed in council-run car parks in Warwick district.

QR codes have appeared on RingGo parking signs in local car parks, directing people to a fake website to take payment.

The council is telling locals not to use the codes.

In a Facebook post, Warwick District Council wrote: "Please note that we do not use QR codes on any of our parking signage for payments.

"We're removing them as quickly as we can."
