In just over a week Kenilworth locals will head to the polls to vote in their new councillors for Warwickshire County Council.

All 57 wards at the local authority are up for grabs, with voting opening on Thursday 1 May.

Results will then be announced on Friday 2 May, including in all three Kenilworth wards.

We have asked each candidate why locals should trust them with their vote.

This is what the candidates for Kenilworth Park Hill Ward said:

Tracey Drew – Green

It's been such a pleasure and a privilege to serve Park Hill's residents as county councillor since 2021: listening, taking concerns seriously, and acting on them.

I'll always put Kenilworth residents' needs first and work hard with transparency and collaboration cross-party. If re-elected, I'll continue to campaign vigorously and effectively on a range of local issues, all year round.

Residents and businesses highlight transport issues needing urgent attention, and my campaigns mean essential improvements are being made to road safety, risky junctions, traffic and active travel options.

I'm also working for better shops and services for residents and to protect the green belt land between Kenilworth and Coventry.

We must support Park Hill's residents of all ages, including young carers and cost-of-living support, and ensure Kenilworth is a beautiful and sustainable place to live, work and learn.

Tracey Drew – Green

Malcolm Graham - Conservative

As a Park Hill resident for some 28 years, I know how frustrating it is for residents to actually get things done, to obtain visibility on certain issues in our community or just understand which council does what.

So, rather than complain or criticise from the sidelines, I've decided to put myself forward to represent you as your next county councillor. After all, I use the same roads, shops, pub and services as you.

I believe I have the background and experience to be effective and get stuff done.

I've had a career in international major project delivery, customer services and general management all of which have given me valuable life experiences particularly in delivering to and dealing with customers, and I absolutely see residents of Park Hill as the customers of elected officials.

I'm invested in our community and therefore honoured to be part of some incredibly committed teams, for instance as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust and as an active member of the Kenilworth Community Speed Watch team which looks to raise the awareness of speeding in and around Kenilworth.

My priority is simple: to be a representative who ensures that your local issues are addressed swiftly, decisively and resolutely and to shine a light in corners to bring transparency to lingering issues such as the old Leyes Lane derelict school site, appropriate infrastructure for new build areas, tackling speeding, school drop-off and pick-up issues in the roads around the new schools and dangerous junctions such as Windy Arbour/Birches Lane.

Malcolm Graham - Conservative

Andrew Harwood (Reform)

Nub News has tried to contact Mr Harwood for a statement.

Adrian Marsh - Liberal Democrats

Adrian Marsh says he "believes our community deserves better from those in power".

A Kenilworth resident for 30 years and elected as a Kenilworth Town Councillor in 2023, Mr Marsh lives in Park Hill and is a business owner, so he "understands the real issues that matter to residents".

Town councillors are unpaid and volunteers and Mr Marsh is "working hard" on several town council committees, and groups; including planning, business and visitor economy, Kenilworth Revealed, and he has been robustly challenging HS2 at the quarterly Warwickshire HS2 Forum.

He also represents Warwick district town and parish councils at Warwick District Council's Audit and Standards Committee.

"Adrian is not just talking about change – he's already making it happen," his statement said.

"For example, on a recent visit by councillors to the new swimming pools site, he identified that as the number of builders working on the site increases, parking spaces for local residents in Abbey Fields could disappear as contractors park more vans and cars.

"He immediately called for the main contractor to find a better solution that accommodates both residents and the builders who need to get to work.

"Adrian has consistently stood up for local people, robustly challenging those who are failing our community; whether it's HS2's disruption, Warwickshire County Highways' lack of response, or Warwick District Council's broken promises.

"Adrian is a proven champion for residents."

Adrian Marsh - Liberal Democrats

Sarah Purdy - Labour

I'm Sarah Purdy, long time Kenilworth resident and NHS neurological rehabilitation Speech and Language Therapist.

I'm standing in Kenilworth Park Hill to give voters the chance to vote for Labour and vote for change.

My priorities are to hold the Tory-led county council to account for wasted money and broken promises, and to support Labour and other colleagues who also believe that we all deserve better services for children with specific needs, joined up health and social care, effective infrastructure planning and safer, greener transport.

Sarah Purdy - Labour

Trevor Wright - Independent

I have lived in Park Hill Ward Kenilworth for over 40 yrs and my children attended both Park Hill and Kenilworth Schools and my wife worked at Park hill for 35 years and I at JLR for over 37 years.

As a past district councillor in the surrounding areas I am very aware of the local frustrations and issues.

My past constituents will tell you that I have always been dedicated and committed to working on local issues.

Those who know me will tell you I always work and deliver the best possible outcomes and results for our community…not the party or party line.

This is why I am standing in Park Hill Kenilworth.

Trevor Wright - Independent
