HS2 has issued its summer update for all the upcoming works around Kenilworth.

Over the past few months HS2 has announced closures for Dalehouse Lane and the railway line to Leamington Spa, as more bridges are set to be created.

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has also delayed its decision on the new viaduct in Balsall Common.

And now the high speed rail developer has released its summer 'construction look ahead' for Warwickshire.

Upcoming work:

  • Closing Cromwell Lane during school summer holidays for utility diversion
  • Piling works for the Burton Green Tunnel and retaining structure
  • Building the Burton Green Tunnel roof slab at the North Portal
  • Constructing Broadwell Woods Embankment and Cutting
  • Constructing Crackley Wood Cutting
  • Building Crackley Wood Embankment
  • Finishing the temporary bridge over Canley Brook
  • Completing the new Coventry to Leamington Spa Rail Overbridge
  • Dalehouse Lane closure from mid-September 2023 to divert existing utility services in advance of building the new Dalehouse Lane Overbridge
  • Building the A46 box jack structure by the A46 Kenilworth Bypass
  • Building Stoneleigh Road Underpass from July 2023 to December 2023

HS2 also said there will be the "removal of the minimum number of trees and vegetation needed to safely build the railway and prepare sites for construction".
