HS2 has issued its winter update for all the upcoming works around Kenilworth.

Over the past few months HS2 has submitted numerous planning applications for local works, and announced several upcoming road closures.

And now the high speed rail developer has released its winter 2024 'construction look ahead' for Warwickshire.

But details of the three-week road closure of the A46 are yet to be confirmed.

Upcoming work includes:

  • Burton Green tunnel roof slabs to be installed.
  • Further tunnel excavation in Burton Green
  • Installing new Cromwell Lane embankment
  • Over 100,000 cubic metres of earth to be moved to backfill south portal building at Burton Green
  • Tunnel portal earthworks at Broadwell Woods
  • Installing W168 underpass structure and new footpath
  • New alignment of Crackley Lane and overbridge
  • Build Canley Brook Viaduct
  • 'Early 2025 phase two of the full closure of A429 Kenilworth Road to facilitate tie-in works ahead of road realignment'
  • Preparing for the 'box' tunnel under the A46

HS2 also said there will be the "removal of the minimum number of trees and vegetation needed to safely build the railway and prepare sites for construction".
