New signs telling HS2 drivers not to head through the centre of Kenilworth have been put in place after the previous ones were taken by 'scallywags'.

Last month, Cllr Richard Dickson reported the 'No HS2 Traffic' signs at the St John's and Thickthorn roundabouts had gone missing, meaning lorries were once again heading along Warwick Road, which they are not supposed to do.

But HS2 has now put new signs in place.

"We have had to report to HS2 that the signs at St John's gyratory and the Thickthorn roundabout saying HS2 vehicles are not allowed to drive up Warwick Road, have disappeared," Cllr Dickson said at last week's Kenilworth Town Council meeting.

"This got reported to HS2's community engagement team who described the people who took the signs as 'scallywags'."

HS2 told Cllr Dickson the signs were ordered, and they were then put in place at the end of the month.
