New Kenilworth roundabout will not be built until 2027

A major roadworks project which will see a new roundabout built on Glasshouse Lane is now being pushed back once again.
The much-delayed Stansfield Grove roundabout will not begin until January at the earliest, some three years after it was supposed to be built.
The new £1.2 million junction was part of the planning permission agreed with Warwick District Council when the 620-house estate was fully signed off in November 2022.
At the most recent Kenilworth Town Council meeting, Cllr Richard Dickson provided an update.
"That is delayed yet again," he said.
"It should have been done by September 2023 when the school opened, it was going to be done last year, then in February, then in June and then in September.
"Now it is set to start in January. It is a nine-month piece of work at the junction with Stansfield Grove and Oakley Road that includes in it footways on the eastern side of Glasshouse Lane so it is safe for people going to the school.
"One of the reasons it has been delayed is they found the ditch was bigger than they thought it was going to be."
In more positive news on Glasshouse Lane, town councillors are moving towards creating a new school zone to make the area around Kenilworth School safer.
Cllr Zoe Leventhal explained: "A brief bit of good news, we have got the funding towards some of the signage around the school zone area.
"A further update is that the county council has asked the town council to consider some artwork for the signage."
