Here are the biggest Kenilworth planning stories from the past week.

Showhomes Given the Go Ahead

Permission has been given for five showhomes and a sales office as part of the 620 houses being built in Kenilworth.

Three detached and two semi-detached homes will be built and there will also be ten parking spaces at the sales office.

The houses, which will be sold by Linden Homes, will be built just off Glasshouse Lane, opposite Stansfield Grove.

Waitrose Delivery Times

Kenilworth Waitrose has applied to extend its delivery times.

The Bertie Road store said it needs longer to load its home delivery vans "to enhance the online services offered".

And it wants to have more time to accept deliveries due to the "stress on the logistics and distribution networks".

New Business Park

Warwickshire County Council has backed a scheme to build nine new industrial units in Southam.

The Holywell Business Park could create up to 100 jobs and will de delivered by Warwickshire Property and Development Group - the council's own company.

A planning application has been submitted and work is hoped to begin in Autumn 2022.

Hotel's Demolition

Plans to demolish a Victorian hotel in Kenilworth have been submitted to Warwick District Council.

The hotel was bought by Archel Homes for £5million in November 2021.

However, the application has actually been submitted by Crewe Lane Kenilworth JV LLP.

Companies House list the company's two officers as Vistry Linden Limited and Milverton Homes - Warwick District Council's own housing company.

£200k development plan must include the public

A masterplan for the development of the land north of Kenilworth must take into account the opinions of local people according to a Kenilworth councillor.

WDC has signed off on a £200,000 report into the area by Cllr Richard Hales said community engagement was key to its success.

"It is really important that we build this from the ground upwards," he said.
