Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
'Self-Build' Stopped
Council planners have refused to grant planning permission for a new one-bedroom 'self-build' bungalow in Kenilworth.
The scheme would have seen the home built to the rear of a property on Moseley Road and was intended to be the applicant's "primary residence".
Construction of the building was also due to be completed by the applicant and the entrance would have come from the neighbouring Worcester Road.
Mixed Bag for Tree Plan
A housing developer has received a mixed reaction to plans to cut back and cut down a number of trees in a Kenilworth wood.
Bovis Homes Ltd applied for permission for the tree works at Bullimore Wood in October saying there are "many trees within the woods requiring work" to make the footpaths safe.
A similar application was put forward in 2023.
HS2 Highlights
Installing the huge new A46 bridge this spring is one of HS2's 2025 highlights, it has been revealed.
The dual carriageway was closed in April to allow for the road surface to be removed and the new bridge slid some 64 metres into place.
The road was then rebuilt over it, with the HS2 line ultimately set to run under the bridge.
Weighing 14,500 tonnes, the box structure is believed to be the heaviest of its kind in Europe.
