Kenilworth Footpath Preservation Group (KFPG) has donated £1,000 to the mayor's charities at a ceremony on Sunday (January 7).

Mayor Kenilworth Cllr Alix Dearing was also gifted a KFPG tabard and a copy of the KFPG's booklet 'Kenilworth and Beyond; Country Walks'.

The donation comes from the profits from the sale of the popular booklet, which is available from Kenilworth Books and Kenilworth Castle's gift shop.

Photos show the presentation with Jim Passmore - the group's convener - on the left, Cllr Dearing and Tony Cartwright - the group's treasurer - together with members standing in front of the group's noticeboard by the castle.

The volunteer organisation works to clear and waymark hundreds of rights of way around the town and district, having first published the booklet in 1977.

At the end of the current civic year, Cllr Dearing will give the money raised across the past 12 months to local causes of her choice.
