Warwickshire County Council

That vote was triggered after Cllr Rob Howard stepped down as group and council leader after just 41 days.

As interim leader Cllr George Finch triggered controversy by demanding the Pride flag be removed from Shire Hall. Opposition councillors have criticised the teenager for "crying off" after not getting his way about the flag.

Reform maintained its control at Warwickshire County Council though with 19-year-old Cllr George Finch only narrowly voted in as the new leader this week.

The Lib Dems refused to blame absentees for the narrow defeat. Meanwhile the abstaining Conservatives rejected the blame for Reform retaking control.

Cllr Finch has said the other parties are "finished".
