The 'Great Kenilworth Bake Off' is set to be hosted by local housing developer Miller Homes on Saturday (14 October).

The event will feature a live dessert and pastry demonstration by renowned and award-winning chef, Michael Gordon, happening from 12 noon.

There will be a kids competition to for the best decorated gingerbread man and a raffle with some baking themed prizes all in aid of the Kenilworth Centre.

Guests are invited to explore the exclusive Southcrest Rise development, off Glasshouse Lane, tuck into sweet treats as prepared by Michael, and speak to the Miller Homes team on site.

Donna Salmon, head of sales for Miller Homes West Midlands, said: "To mark the return of the Great British Bake Off, we're inviting residents, neighbours and those connected with Kenilworth, as well as those travelling from further afield, to pop in and spend some time with us on 14 October while we host a very special live cookery demonstration with chef Michael Gordon, who we are all very excited to see in action.

"Michael will be preparing a variety of pastry and dessert items for visitors to try, as they explore our beautiful five-bedroom show home at Southcrest Rise, which will be Michael's base for the demonstration.

"We're really looking forward to welcoming everyone to Kenilworth this Saturday."

The 'Oxford' style show home at the Glasshouse Lane estate was opened in May - with the kitchen set to be used for Saturday's display.

Complete with a double garage, two en-suite bedrooms and an impressive kitchen with a central island, the show home shows off the high quality of homes on offer at the new development.

Work on the first 25 homes at Southcrest Rise continues, and the whole site - which sits next to the new Kenilworth School - is expected to be complete in 2025.

And as part of the development, Miller Homes will be contributing more than £2 million to the local area.

The money will be spent on education, transport and sporting facilities, with more than £980,000 to go towards early years, primary and secondary education and £176,721 set to go towards creating a new community centre.
