The front cover of the 2023 Friends of Abbey Fields Calendar has been revealed as the calendar goes on sale at 22 shops and venues across the town.

Local photographer Jonathan Corbett's picture 'Autumn Glow' was judged to be the best of 41 entries by Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr Sam Louden-Cooke.

The winning image was chosen during a judging event at the Virgins & Castle back in July,

Before judging the images, Cllr Louden-Cooke gave a short speech to the photographers, calendar sponsors and members of FOAF who attended the event.

In her speech she spoke about the importance of Abbey Fields to the Kenilworth Community and emphasised that it is one of Kenilworth's jewels.

Friends of Abbey Fields congratulated Jonathan on his photograph and thanked all those who submitted entries.

Jonathan is a keen local photographer and more of his work can be seen on his website.

He has been a keen photographer since he left school.

However, just before the covid pandemic began he was diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH), a rare condition with an unknown cause.

The condition is associated with raised fluid pressure around the brain which can damage the optic nerves and cause impaired vision.

His condition has been stabilised with surgery and so he has been able to continue to enjoy his passion for photography despite being visually impaired.
