A busy Kenilworth road is set to close next month for resurfacing works.

Crewe Lane will shut on August 8 for "carriageway patching," Warwickshire County Council has confirmed.

The closure is expected to last from 8am to 4pm and the works will be carried out by Balfour Beatty.

A diversion will be in place.

The news comes just weeks after plans to effectively split the road in two were signed off.

The break in Crewe Lane will not be created until Dalehouse Lane completely reopens from HS2 works and the new roundabout is built at the entrance to Stansfield Grove on Glasshouse Lane.
