The Role

Lantra have a number of Heads of Industry who liaise with industry to understand business needs and opportunities for Lantra.

We are now looking for a Head of Industry; Head of Agriculture to join our team on a full- time permanent basis. This is an office-based role with the opportunity to work from home up to three days per week. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident, clear communicator with strong presentation skills to join our leading organisation.

With 5 years + experience in agriculture, preferably the dairy farming industry we are looking for a strategic thinker who can identify opportunities and build a strong understanding of dairy farming industry needs.

As our industry expert you will work with industry bodies and key stakeholders (including employers) to identify skills needs, gaps and validated product opportunities. In addition to developing new opportunities with partners that align with Lantra's charitable objectives for careers and research.

The role is focussed on active and purposeful engagement with wider government, policymakers, and key industry stakeholders to position Lantra as the 'voice of industry', based on industry growth strategies and the provision of quality assured solutions for the dairy farming industry, and wider agriculture.

About you To be considered as the Head of Agriculture, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience in agriculture (preferably in the dairy farming industry)

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills at a senior level

  • Ability to analyse and interpret data

  • Ability to think strategically

  • Ability to project manage

  • Ability to develop and close on business opportunities

  • Understanding of dairy farming industry, and wider agriculture

  • Understanding of qualifications and awards

  • Understanding of training delivery

  • Experience of B2B engagement and gathering industry insight and knowledge

  • Experience of developing a business of plan

  • Experience of developing new business opportunities
