Are you passionate about changing the lives of children and young people to give them the best possible future?A bit about the role:Warwickshire Disability is a registered Children's Home offering residential overnight short breaks for children and young people with severe learning disabilities and complex needs. Our extremely dedicated and professional staff team work in a sensitive and caring way to support disabled children to remain living with their families.We are looking for an Outreach Worker to work in the community of the county Warwickshire, providing support and care to children in their own homes. The hours will be evenings and regular weekends so you will need to be flexible in your attitude to working hours.You will assist families where there is a child with a physical and/or leaning disability to achieve a normal life pattern and reduce the isolation of the child or young person by enabling them to access and participate in local community services.How you'll help to create brighter futures.Providing a high-quality service to children, young people, and their families.Communicate appropriately with services users, their families, colleagues, other agencies, and professionals.Escort the child on social activities or outings.Oversee and assess the development and behaviour of children and young people and contribute to the prevention of challenging behaviour.To be involved in sensitive and safe, lifting and handling of disabled children and young people.Providing personal care respecting the privacy and dignity of disabled children/young people.To administer medication.To appropriately use equipment, and furnishings with reference to health and safety regulations and undertake risk assessments.To undertake a relevant NVQ in Care Level 2 or Level 3.Let's talk about you.NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a related fieldExperience of working in a health, early years, or social care setting.Experience of working as part of a team or as an individual to deliver a frontline service.Ability to undertake home site visits.Ability to engage and work with children, young people and their families, demonstrating a range of communication skills.Access to transport is essential to be able to travel between homes in remote locations on a regular basis.If you want to make a real difference to the lives of disabled children and young people, why not apply to join our great team!Good to know.If you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't align perfectly with the job description, we'd love you to apply anyway.
