The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazonis fundamental to our operations - they're the ones keeping vitalmachinery running at all times. As an RME Technician, you'llmaintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces while upholdingHealth and Safety best practices. You'll help to keep yourcolleagues safe and prevent machine downtime. Our RME Techniciansboost the availability and quality of our equipment and work toenhance the operational environmenttoo.Key jobresponsibilities- Proactive and preventative maintenancetasks on a wide range of site equipment - Carry outreactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distributionwarehouse - Use the latest tools to maximize equipmenteffectiveness - Uphold all health and safety policiesand practices - Support the development and progressionof on-site apprentices - Work on continuous improvementprojects and roll out best practices across a range of EUsitesA day in the lifeOur RMETechnicians are based on-site, so they can respond quickly to anymachinery issues. You'll carry out a range of planned preventativemaintenance to our sites' equipment to make sure it's workingsafely. As an RME Technician, you'll also respond promptly tobreakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions asquickly as possible. You'll also make suggestions for long-termimprovements. Working alongside senior colleagues,you'll undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks like painting andplumbing and will liaise with contractors if you need externalexpertise. You'll work on a range of shifts to make sure our sitesare supported around the clock - allowing Amazon to deliver at thespeed we're known for.About theteamOur Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME teamkeep our equipment performing at its best. We're a technicallyminded team, made up of excellent team players and guided byexperienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot andrepair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centres.Some of our people are leaders, who oversee the team as they workon exciting technology - some of which only exists atAmazon.From installing automated packaging systems tooverseeing the general maintenance of a site to repairing keydistribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon'stechnical side. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant,so everyone is safe, and our sites are operating at maximumefficiency. There are lots of opportunities for progression, bothwithin the RME team and more widely acrossAmazon.Everything we do focuses on reducing downtime inAmazon's crucial operations sites, so customers get their orders ontime. We often work during early or late hours to carry outmaintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts. If wespot a better way to do something, we have the skills and theopportunity to develop and introduce completely new processes orcutting-edge tech like Amazon Robotics and our Complex ItemSorter. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Serveda full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to aminimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineeringsubject (City & Guilds Level 3, SVQ/IVQ) - Relevantexperience as a qualified engineer - Relevant experienceworking in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance -Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and inwriting PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS Preferred qualifications are not requiredto apply for a position at Amazon.
