Location: Long Itchington, Warwickshire

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Agent to join our team in Long Itchington. To be considered, you will come from a Construction or Civil Engineering background.

The Site Agent will be responsible for the management of a small project or work area on larger projects. Support the project manager and contracts manager in undertaking operation duties and responsibilities.

Key Accountabilities to include but not limited to:

  • Understand the contract programme
  • Ensures production of operational target programmes to reflect the overall construction programme
  • Monitor and track progress/performance against the contract programme
  • Work with planning support to understand change events and updates
  • Lead on short term planning and dissemination of short-term programmes to the site team and supply chain
  • Implement safe systems of work to ensure that the project team comply with all relevant approvals and best practices
  • Prepare and input into Project H&S Plan
  • Carries out periodic Safety & Environment Tours as required by the Project H & S Plan
  • Support and endorse Galldris Behavioural Safety programme and the use of hazard observation reporting (or Customer lead initiatives similar to above where required)
  • Ensure health and Safety risks are mitigated from the project when considering construction methodology and supplier approvals
  • Support and attend project commercial risk meetings
  • Ensure the engineering team is adequately set up with the correct resource, equipment, experience and training
  • Ensure that the correct document control is being adhered to and the engineering team have established primary and secondary control points
  • Ensure that ITPs are signed off before any work commences
  • Ensure that WIS/Check sheets are being implemented and adhered
  • Understand temporary work requirements, design procurement and role of TWC
  • Manage all environmental constraints and requirements

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of temporary works
  • Geotechnical and earthworks experience
  • Considerable experience in Civil Engineering
  • Working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme and Risk Management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost, and value reporting
  • Good knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to general civil engineering
  • Demonstrated application of growing commercial and contractual knowledge

Skills:

  • Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion
  • Ability to demonstrate the right behaviours and motivate and lead the team

Qualifications:

  • Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
  • Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent is desirable
  • IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS
