A sixth form student at The Westwood Academy is now back in the UK after shining for Great Britain at the Women's Water Polo World Cup Division Two tournament held in Istanbul.
Amelie Perkins represented the nation at the tournament in December and earned player of the match against Turkey as she bagged three goals against the host nation in the group stages.
Losing 12-15 to Japan, GB eventually placed fourth overall in the competition.
Seventeen-year-old Amelie - who also studies A level PE at Kenilworth School & Sixth Form - was one of 14 drafted into the squad by newly appointed senior women's head coach, Theo Nousios.
Having beaten Bulgaria and Turkey in the groups, GB saw off Czech Republic in the Quarter Finals 22-4 before being knocked out by Japan.
They then narrowly lost out 11-12 to Germany in the bronze place final.
"We are all incredibly proud of Amelie's sporting success in representing England in the EU Nations Junior Women's Water Polo World Cup," Hayden Abbott, CEO, Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust said.
"This is an amazing achievement to represent her country in such a prestigious international competition.
"She has a bright future ahead of her and everyone from The Westwood Academy and Kenilworth School and Sixth Form wish to congratulate her on what she has achieved."
Amelie's selection in December followed a strong performance at the EU Nations Junior Women's Water Polo Cup held in Brno, Czech Republic in November where she finished top scorer.
Representing England Junior Women's, the side won the tournament beating host nation Czech Republic in the final and Amelie netting six goals.
She has also played for GB under 19s in Croatia at European Championships in August where Amélie was one of the tournament's top goal scorers with 23 goals and contributed to the ninth place finish which was the highest place a junior GB team has finished in many years.
