A Kenilworth sports club is celebrating being nominated for the National Diversity Awards.
Kenilworth Town Netball and Football club has been shortlisted for the prize in the 'Community Organisation Award for Gender'.
This award applauds groups, charities and voluntary organisations that have made an "outstanding contribution to their local community, or nationwide, with diversity as their core focus".
Voting remains open for the awards, with locals able to throw their support behind Kenilworth Town until May 13.
"We are incredibly proud to have received this nomination for Kenilworth Town Netball and Football Club," club chairman Marcus Leek said.
"It reflects the huge amount of dedication and commitment shown by our volunteer coaches, who work tirelessly throughout the year to support the club and everything it stands for.
"The growth of our netball section over the past three years has been remarkable — from just eight players to more than 170 across 12 teams, ranging from Under 8s to Under 17s.
"Supporting development both on and off the court is central to our approach, and we are proud to be helping both coaches and young people gain umpire qualifications, with four adults and four young players currently in training.
"One of our young umpires was awarded the Young Umpire of the Year for the Coventry & Warwickshire District. We are especially proud to have supported six girls through their Duke of Edinburgh Awards and to have seen 11 players trial for county teams.
"This nomination belongs to everyone who supports the club — including our parents, volunteers, supporters & coaches — and recognises what we are building together for the local community."
