Entries are already open for next year's triathlons in Warwickshire organised by UK Triathlon.

Each year the company hosts the Stratford Triathlon in May followed by the Warwickshire Triathlon in October.

This year's autumn event was hosted last weekend and saw hundreds of athletes compete across the sprint distance events.

Stratford and District Leisure Centre's pool was used for the swim, with the run then following the riverside path and the cycle going into the countryside around Stratford.

Across the two events over 1,600 people take part with seasoned triathletes and beginners getting involved.

The event is also one of the oldest in the country, now in its 27th year and early bird entries are now open for October 1 2023.

There will be two distances for people to try - a 400 metre swim, 18km cycle and a 5km run, or a 200 metre swim, 18km bike and a 2.5km run.

"Our two Warwickshire Triathlons are very popular, whether you're a seasoned triathlete or you are a complete beginner, these two events are ideal," organisers said.

"What we like about these two triathlons are, they are very well supported by the local people. "Either taking part, or volunteering to help marshal at the event.

"The Warwick Search & Rescue are fantastic supporters of the event. They do an amazing job looking after the safety of our bike course."
