A comprehensive range of support for pelvic health is available at a Kenilworth physio clinic whose mantra is that every patient is different.

HALO Physiotherapy provides a range of support through antenatal care, postnatal recovery, and specialist pelvic health services.

Based at Camden House, the clinic has a clear focus on preventative care as well as recovery and long-term well-being.

"Pregnancy puts a huge demand on the body, especially on the muscles and tissues of the pelvis," Pelvic Health Specialist Physiotherapist - Gemma Joiner, told Nub News.

"In the antenatal phase, we focus on preparing the body for birth, supporting the changing posture, and helping prevent / manage any complications such as urinary incontinence and aim to keep you comfortable and active."

Post-birth, the clinic offers thorough postnatal assessments and tailored rehabilitation through their HALO Healthy Mama service.

This support sees its highly qualified team - Gemma Joiner and Jude Davis - address everything from abdominal muscle separation and scar recovery, to pelvic floor function and return to exercise.

New mums are supported every step of the way with advice, hands-on treatment, and personalised plans.

One area that has seen particular growth is pessary fitting – a "game changing" service now offered by HALO's advanced pelvic health specialists.

The pessary service complements the clinic's wider approach to women's pelvic health, helping women return to their daily lives, exercise, and confidence without feeling limited by their symptoms.

"Pessaries are small, silicone devices fitted vaginally to support pelvic organs and help manage symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse," Gemma explained.

"They can be a game changer for women experiencing symptoms such as heaviness, dragging, or incontinence — particularly in the postnatal period, after menopause, or if surgery is not appropriate or desired.

"Many women don't realise how common pelvic organ prolapse is — and they certainly don't know about pessaries as a non-surgical, low-risk option.

"At Halo, we take the time to assess suitability, provide a comfortable fitting experience, and offer ongoing support. Each fitting is entirely bespoke — it's not one-size-fits-all."

That desire to give as much support to mothers and women across the lifespan is part of the clinic's broader ambition to change the perception of what it means to go to a physio.

Gemma continued: "As a clinic, we try to instil that prevention is better than cure.

"If you go to the dentist a couple of times a year to maintain dental health, why not do the same for your physical health — especially after pregnancy or with pelvic changes that affect quality of life?"

"People typically think about going to a physio clinic when they've got an injury or when they're in pain.

"But we want to introduce the idea that physiotherapy is also about proactive care, support, and building strength and resilience."

HALO Physiotherapy was first opened in March 2013 by Michelle Henry and Rachael Adams with a focus on personalised treatment and making sure clients receive the best support possible.

Now owned by Andrew Threadgold and Philip Jordan, the Camden House-based clinic has expanded its services, but continues to put that emphasis on individual care at the forefront of everything it does.

As well as physiotherapy, HALO offers sports massage, sports medicine, pilates - in groups and for individuals - and other services including 1:1 reformer pilates, podiatry, aromatherapy, acupuncture, reflexology and mindfulness.

The practice has now introduced a new 'first aid at work' programme for local businesses.

A wide range of courses of varying lengths are available, are flexible around the needs of the business, and all are led by certified First Aid at Work Instructor Paul Godfrey who has over 33 years of extensive experience of working in private practice.
