Kenilworth Wardens Sunday side reached the final of the Spa Trophies Divisional Cup with an impressive win over league leaders Cubbington Albion.
Cubbington deservedly beat Wardens 1-0 in the league just three weekends ago and were favourites going into the game.
Manager Patrick Breslin made tactical changes from the previous game including one change in personnel with Andy Legg starting up front and Ben Edmunds dropping to the bench.
Wardens started the better side, clearly understanding this as their most important game of the season.
Kenilworth took the lead on 10 minutes. Captain Tom Holmes played a long ball to Andy Legg to flick on perfectly to Dan Twigger who rounded the keeper and slotted home.
Wardens made it 2-0 five minutes later. Dan Twigger ran down the right and after beating his man twice, was fouled towards the corner.
Holmes floated the ball to the back post and the impressive James Carro headed from 6 yards out against the crossbar and the ball bounced over the line.
Wardens continued to press for a third and got their reward on 30 minutes.
Holmes whipped a free kick from the left hand side, Andy Legg powered a header from 18 yards out into the bottom corner, leaving the keeper with no chance.
Wardens started the second half as they ended the first, after good work from substitute Ben Edmunds he created space for a shot, with the rebound falling to Twigger who hammered in for his second goal of the game.
Cubbington did get a goal back on 60 minutes. After good work down the side, Cubbington's winger crossed into the box and Gatfield passed into the corner.
Ben Edmunds scored Wardens' fifth and final goal of the game with 10 minutes to go.
Kenilworth Wardens will play Bulldog in the final on 24 April at Kenilworth Sporting's Gypsy Lane ground.
Speaking after the game Breslin said: "Cubbington had an off day today and we took advantage.
"I have to say though, the kids came of age and were nothing short of superb. They played men and beat men today.
"We wish Cubbington the best for the season and look forward to the final."
