Kenilworth Sporting have today announced the signing of Charlie McConnachie from Coventry Sphinx.

McConnachie, who plays either as a right-sided full back or wing back, is the latest signing for the Kenilworth outfit.

Sporting, who returned brought non-league football back to Gypsy Lane with a 4-1 win over Leamington Hibernian this Saturday, currently sit in third place in the Midlands League Division Three.

McConnachie spent all his junior and youth career as a member of the academy at Aston Villa, and will bring a huge amount of talent and experience to a Sporting backline which has conceded only once so far this season.

Manager Martin Ascroft has said "Charlie is an exciting right back, and I would like to thank Coventry Sphinx for their help in getting the transfer sorted as quickly as they did."

McConnachie will join the rest of his new teammates for training this Wednesday, ahead of their clash with tenth-placed side FC Shush this weekend.
