A Kenilworth football club is on the lookout for more young girls to get involved, as it celebrates four years since forming.
Kenilworth Wardens Football Club first formed its girls section in September 2019, and now has six sides playing in the Central Warwickshire Girls and Women's Football League.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the club has managed to launch teams in age groups from under 10s all the way up to under 14s and has over 90 girls registered to play.
The club hosts sessions on Tuesday nights at Kenilworth School and Sunday mornings at the Glasshouse Lane ground.
Many of the girls now playing in the league sides came to try football for the first time on a Sunday morning with the club, and are now regularly playing home and away on Saturday morning matches.
And now the club is looking to encourage more youngsters to get involved.
"We're keen to recruit more players, especially now that we have more and more female coaches getting involved and offering great role models for the girls," the club said to Nub News.
"Our next step is to bolster the youngest players' group (year 1 and up) so that we can feed in to the lower age groups and, hopefully, create a sustained and perpetual flow of new players coming in to the game."
