Tyrone Wilson rescued a point for Kenilworth Sporting who wasted chances to wrap up the victory over Coton Green.
Kenilworth started the game brightly putting the team one place above them on the back foot straightaway.
Tyrone Wilson asked the first question of the Coton Green keeper who saved what looked a certain goal with his feet in the early exchanges.
Mason Platts was also denied by the Coton keeper who pulled off another stop to keep Kenilworth from taking a deserved lead.
Kenilworth were pinning the Coton Green side in their half but the hosts' goal was leading a charmed life.
David Gbehe saw his left footed strike hit the post and fell back at the feet of the keeper on the stroke of half time.
Coton green started the second half better than Kenilworth and on 57 minutes a free kick from wide right was clearly mishit by the Coton right back and caught Woodward wrong footed. The Kenilworth keeper managed to push the cross come shot the onto the bar but the ball dropped to an Coton attacker who nodded into the empty net.
Kenilworth were shocked but not deterred and continued to put pressure on the Coton goal. When it seemed that the Coton keeper was going to be the match winner a excellent through ball from Harry Wilson to Tyrone Wilson saw him one on one with the keeper and this time Kenilworth got what they definitely deserved from the game as Wilson calmly slotted past the on running keeper.
Kenilworth continued to try and get the winner in the final few minutes of the game but Coton stood strong until the final whistle.
Speaking after the game Kenilworth manager Martin Ascroft said: "The first half is the best we have played for a long time.
"On another day we could have been four or five up - it's an old adage, but goals win games.
"The goal we gave away was a fluke. It gave Coton belief but we showed the character that we have all season and kept plugging away until the final whistle.
"At some point we need to turn these draws into wins, we have only been beaten three times all season in the league but it's the six draws that are frustrating for us as a group. It's a strong league where teams can get results when least expected.
"I'm not overly concerned as we are creating a host of chances every game we just need to start punishing our opponents and put the chances away."
