A year-long wait for repairs to be made to Kenilworth's clock tower is expected to come to an end this month.

With the clock having been out of action at the Abbey End tower since early 2024, Warwick District Council has confirmed repair works will be completed on Thursday 20 March.

Works are expected to see a new mechanism installed.

The news comes as Kenilworth Town Council explores the possibility of taking over responsibility for maintaining the town centre feature.

Councillors said at the beginning of the year it was a "top priority" to get the clock fixed.

The town council is also considering asking to be in charge of the water feature at Abbey End, and The Pound on High Street.

But it has been told by its district colleagues that no additional funding will be made available, if it does take on the extra responsibilities.
