A year-long wait for the town centre clock in Kenilworth to be fixed is now over.

Town councillors last week welcomed the news that the clock at Abbey End is working again after repair works were carried out by Warwick District Council at the end of March.

Cllr Richard Dickson also gave an update on Kenilworth Town Council's project to consider whether it will take on any extra responsibilities from its district colleagues.

This includes the possibility of the town council taking over the maintenance of the clock tower and the water feature at Abbey End.

"There is definitely an appetite from the district council, and that will hopefully very soon manifest itself in the Kenilworth clock becoming the responsibility of the town council," Cllr Dickson said.

"It is working now, which is good news. It is right all day - not just twice a day!

"There are a lot more strategic issues which we need to think about and discussions are ongoing."
