A number of Kenilworth roads are set to be resurfaced this April.

Warwickshire County Council has released details of a number of works across the county over the coming months, many of which are in Kenilworth.

The surface dressing works involve spraying a sticky tar-like substance (bitumen emulsion) onto the prepared road surface.

It is then rolled to allow the stones to embed in. Some loose stones will remain on the road surface and will be embedded into the surface as cars drive over it, once the road reopens.

"This is why it is vital that people follow the onsite speed restrictions," the council website said.

Nub News understands the works have been timed to coincide with the Easter holidays.

Road closures will be in place while the resurfacing takes place.

The local authority website says the following works will be completed this April:

  • Mountbatten Avenue
  • Knightlow Close
  • The Mews
  • Percy Crescent
  • Caesar Road
  • Archer Road
  • Willoughby Avenue
  • Avon Road
  • Latimer Close
  • Beauchamp Road
  • John Ogaunt Road
  • Fishponds Road
  • Guy Road
  • Percy Road
  • Lindsey Crescent
  • Thickthorne Close / Thickthorne Orchards
  • Tintagel Grove
  • Dunvegan Close
  • Inveraray Close
  • Caista Grove
  • Lindisfarne Drive
  • Newfield Avenue
  • Harger Court / Harger Mews
  • Denewood Way
  • Park Hill (Service Road)
  • Parkfield Drive
  • Leyes Lane
  • Arthur Street
  • Edwards Grove

The council said the works began over the weekend and will continue over the coming week.

The website continued: "Road markings will be replaced no later than 28 days after the surface dressing application.

"Critical marks such as stop lines, crossroad junctions and give way markings on roundabouts will be repainted the same day as the treatment.

"All give way markings are masked before surface dressing application.

"This masking is then removed after treatment so that there are still give way markings on site."
