Works on Kenilworth's new swimming pool remain ahead of schedule but an opening date is yet to be confirmed.

After lengthy delays, more planning applications and new swimming pools, work resumed in Abbey Fields in 2024.

Since then, the project has moved ahead of schedule and is currently working 14 weeks ahead of the plan.

A report to Kenilworth Town Council said contractors are due to complete the building in April 2026.

"At present, the planned completion date is approximately 13-14 weeks ahead of schedule," it said.

"There has been a slight movement on the planned completion date due from the last report and this is due the main driveway design being signed off by Historic England."

In November councillors were told there "could be quite some gap" from when the work is finished to when the facility actually opens.

Meanwhile, town councillors have continued to call on their district colleagues to find a solution to predicted parking problems at Abbey Fields before the swimming pools do open.
