After the government's announcement of a second country-wide lockdown in England starting on Thursday, November 5, the COVID-19 Support Kenilworth charity has met today (November 1) and wants to reassure the Kenilworth community that it will still be operating to support local vulnerable residents.

The charity's prescription delivery service from local pharmacies will continue to operate as before, as will its Call Pal helpline and meal delivery activities for the town's most vulnerable residents.

Two months ago the group picked up responsibility for the meals scheme set up in the first lockdown by Molly's Meals.

All these activities are operated by an army of amazing local volunteers, with the help of The Engine, The Gauntlet and Virgins & Castles pubs and King's Table café who help with the Molly's Meals service for the most vulnerable residents.

The charity's main priority in the next few days is to contact as many of Kenilworth's vulnerable residents as possible to make sure they know of the group's services if they are not already aware of them.

If local residents know of people in their street who are vulnerable, they are asked to encourage them to contact the group on 01926 919340 or via its Facebook page at 'COVID-19 Support Kenilworth - Group'.

The charity would also welcome hearing from any new local residents who wish to help out with the group as a volunteer.

Some of the group's original volunteers have stood down because their circumstances have changed.

Whilst the group has a reserve list of other volunteers to approach, new volunteers are always welcome to register via the group's website which you can access by following this link.
