Tickets are now on sale for a farewell party for the current Kenilworth School grounds.

Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust (KMAT) announced earlier this month that there would be a 'Farewell Fundraising Festival' at the current Leyes Lane site, before the school moves to Glasshouse Lane.

Works to create the new school building are nearing completion, with the new site set to be open this September in time for the new academic year.

And now pupils, both current and old, as well as parents and local residents, can now buy tickets for the community event which will take place on Saturday, July 1.

There will be live entertainment throughout the day, from both pupils and external performers, including a stilt walker, magician and hula hoop artist.

A barbecue will also run throughout the day, as well deserts courtesy of the Puddin' Pod. Drinks will be provided the bar courtesy of East Chase Distillers which is run by former pupils Luke Weetman and Richie Bartle.

And there will be a raffle, with local businesses currently being encouraged to donate prizes.

"It is a golden moment to bring people together who have been associated with the school over its existence," said Hayden Abbott, executive head KMAT.

"A chance to share memories and revisit classrooms and play areas that have had a significance in their lives."

The farewell, which will run until 10pm, will culminate in a firework display.

Locals can purchase tickets for the whole day, or just the evening, with prices starting at £8 for adults.

And with the move to Glasshouse Lane just weeks away, the school is still raising money to enhance the new facilities.

KMAT has already raised over £1 million - including a recent £250,000 donation for the new library.

And the school is also looking for local businesses to donate raffle and tombola prizes. Anyone interested can contact fundraising manager Sarah Taylor-Watts at [email protected]

"Both staff and pupils are excited about the move and the opportunities the enhanced facilities will bring," Mr Abbott added.

Parking onsite on the day will be on a first come first serve basis.

Tickets can be purchased online here.
