A new distillery, which opened at a Kenilworth farm last year, has named its still 'Stilly McStillface' following a public vote.

Owners of East Chase Distillery, Luke Weetman and Richie Bartle, asked locals to suggest names for the Holstein still at the start of February, daring customers to "do their worst".

From there the duo whittled it down to three choices: 'Ginny', 'Sylvester Stillone' and Stilly McStillface.

The public was then once again given the opportunity to vote for their favourite, with a possibly predictable outcome seeing Stilly McStillface come out on top.

"We don't know what else to say other than that we won't be doing any 'name the flavour' competitions for our new gin flavours in the future," Luke and Richie said.

"Thanks everyone. Thanks a bunch.

"P.S. We don't advise using this method in naming your children…"

The announcement comes as East Chase launches its new Citrus Orange flavour gin, following the Heritage Gin the company first started marketing last November.

The distillery - which has a bar now open on Friday nights - has been a long time in the making.

Around six years ago, during a discussion in a local bar, the pair decided to go into business together, spotting a gap in the market and discovering their mutual love for gin.

East Chase Farm, where Luke's family have been for five generations, seemed the perfect venue.

The building itself is an old barn which they have completely remodelled into a bespoke distillery, with a mezzanine gallery, marble floors and oak beams all setting the scene for the world–leading Holstein still where they make their spirits.

And with the business now six months old, Luke said things were going really well.

"We have had a lot of interest, and sold a lot already through our online shop," he told Nub News.

"There's so much going on at the farm right now, so we are really busy, but that's what we want.

"We are now opening the distillery on Friday nights for people to come up for drinks.

"We want to encourage more local people to come and find out about us and try our gin!"

The distillery, which has recently become a sponsor of Nub News, now sells direct from the farm and online, as well as being stocked in local bars and shops.
