1. Guide Dogs Fundraiser

Gin lovers are being invited to enjoy an evening of tasting, food and fundraising in Kenilworth this September, all in aid of Guide Dogs.

The Kenilworth Guide Dogs fundraising group has announced a special event at East Chase Distillers on Saturday, September 19, offering guests the chance to sample locally distilled gin while supporting a life-changing cause.

Running from 7.30pm until around 10.30pm, the evening will include a guided gin tasting led by the East Chase Distillers team, an artisan meat and cheese board, and the opportunity to meet guide dogs.

Guests will also hear from business owner Luke Wheetman, who will share the story behind the independent distillery and explain the gin-making process.

Tickets cost £30 per person, with every penny raised helping Guide Dogs provide support for people living with sight loss.

2. Queers at the Priory Theatre

Queers is coming to the Priory Theatre across two nights this weekend

Curated by Mark Gatiss, and directed by Mark Jefferies, Queers is a set of seven poignant and personal, funny, tragic and riotous monologues for both male and female performers covering 100 years (1917 to 2016) of major events in each decade.

The monologues celebrate a century of evolving social attitudes and political milestones in British gay history, as seen through the eyes of seven individuals.

3. Writing Masterclass

Young readers will be given the chance to create their own "monstrously funny" stories at an interactive writing masterclass in Kenilworth this September.

Children's author Jack Meggitt-Phillips will lead the hour-long session at The Kenilworth Centre on Saturday 19 September.

Organised by Kenilworth Books, the event will introduce young readers to Jack's new middle-grade series, Jekyll vs Hyde.

The first instalment, The Potion of Doom, gives Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale a modern twist.

4. Sip & Paint

Bookings are now open for a Sip & Paint night at a popular Kenilworth town centre pub.

The Almanack is hosting the special evening on September 22 in partnership with Paint and Bubbles.

Run by full-time artist Vina, the evening will last two hours and costs £33 per guest.

"This beginner-friendly Sip & Paint workshop is perfect whether you're coming with friends, planning a date night, celebrating something special, joining the regular club or simply wanting to try something new," the team said.

"No experience is needed - just turn up, unwind and enjoy the process while creating your own canvas to take home."
