Stories of Kenilworth feature heavily in a new book by a first-time author who is debuting her new work in the town later this month.

Local gymkhana events, Kenilworth Castle and Crackley Woods all feature in My Cracker-Jack Adventures by Hannah Sharpe.

Published earlier this year by Olympia Publishing, the book is a memoir about a childhood dream of owning a pony and the path to turning that dream into a reality and the love, laughter and chaos that followed.

Hannah is set to head to Kenilworth Books in Talisman Square on Saturday 26 September to sign copies of her book and to meet readers.

"It has proven really popular with horse lovers of all ages from those of a certain age, like me, who have enjoyed being transported back to a time before Netflix and Amazon, Ebay or mobile phones, when life seemed much simpler and summers seemed to last forever," Hannah told Nub News.

"The younger pony-mad individuals have loved the inspirational aspect of it and how hard work and a tenacious attitude can help dreams to come true, and the joy having a four legged best friend can bring.

"All of these stories are based in and around Kenilworth including local gymkhana events and landmarks such as Kenilworth Castle and Crackley Woods."

The latest Saturday Signing at the Talisman Square shop runs from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
