Kenilworth's 2024 Christmas Market has been postponed by Kenilworth Town Council and CJ's Events Warwickshire due to the bad weather forecast this weekend.

The Met Office has put a yellow weather warning in place for most of the UK with 50mph winds predicted.

The council was due to host a day of gifts, food and drink, and community stalls in Abbey End on Saturday 7 December between 10am and 4pm.

But now the event has been pushed back until the following Saturday.

An update from local Liberal Democrat councillors said: “Because of the adverse weather forecast for this Saturday 7 December, especially strong winds, this Saturday's Christmas market in Abbey End has been postponed until Saturday 14 December.

“Kenilworth Town Council explored moving the market to an indoor location in the town, but sadly at such short notice no suitable site could be found.

“However, this Saturday is still Small Business Saturday and a a great chance to support our local businesses when buying Christmas presents. It's also the judging of the Christmas Shop Window competition will still be going ahead at 10am.”
