Kenilworth locals can now make their own gin at the town's independent distillery which has announced the launch of a new 'Gin Making Experience'.

During the evening they will be able to sample the ECD range of gins and vodkas, as well as graze on a freshly prepared deli board.

"The first events have gone really well and people have really enjoyed them," ECD co-founder Luke Weetman told Nub News.

"We had such a fun time.

"It was really relaxed, there was no pressure and everyone made really lovely gins!

"We let the guests do what they want, but gave them some rough quantity ideas depending on their palette.

"It was really nice people were using the mini stills right next to the big still we use."

As well as sending guests home with a bottle of their own gin, ECD will also keep a record of every recipe, meaning visitors can go back for another bottle.

The next dates for the experience are November 9, January 18 and February 8 and bookings are available as a couple for £175 or on your own for £125. Each booking is for the use of one mini-still, which will create one bottle of gin.

The announcement of the Gin Making Experience follows a successful summer of events - from the increasingly popular food takeover nights, to the first 'Night Market' held in September.

And Luke says he hopes to host even more next year.

"The Night Market went down really well and people said they want more," he said.

"It was great for a first event, it went well and the feedback was very positive.

"Hopefully next year we will look at doing more events if we can - including the food nights.

"Maybe next year we will look at doing a market with stalls as well as the food vendors and the bars.

"I think that would go really well, and of course it is great to link with local businesses and support each other.

"That is something we really want to push on."

East Chase Distillers first opened for business in November 2022, run by friends Luke Weetman and Richie Bartle.

And earlier this year they put their world-leading holstein still to further use, bringing out a set of three new vodkas - the Premium Standard house vodka blend, a Wild Berries and an Orange and Passionfruit flavour.
