Kenilworth's Talisman Theatre is "proud to celebrate the success" of its vibrant Fringe programme, as two original comedy pieces developed through its popular Fringe nights have been selected to perform at the prestigious Stratford One Act Festival.

The Talisman Fringe has become a vital platform for new writing, offering writers, performers and creatives the opportunity to experiment, develop ideas and share original work with supportive audiences.

These informal, intimate evenings continue to nurture emerging talent and champion fresh voices within the local theatre community.

This spirit of creativity has now been recognised beyond Kenilworth, with two Fringe-developed productions heading to the Stratford One Act Festival on Saturday 18 April 2026 at The Bear Pit, Stratford-upon-Avon "a fantastic achievement that highlights the strength and quality of work being created at the Talisman."

Among the featured pieces is Still Waiting For Go, written and performed by Matthew Salisbury—a sharp, witty insight into the unseen world of theatre technicians, patiently waiting for that all-important cue. Also selected is Saving the Species, written by Talisman member James Harris, a piece that has already resonated strongly with audiences.

Speaking about the journey from Fringe to festival, James Harris said: "It's a real thrill to see Saving the Species connect with audiences and to have the opportunity to take it to Stratford. The Fringe is such a supportive space for new writing, and I'm excited for more people to experience it at the festival."

The Stratford One Act Festival provides an exciting opportunity for these productions to reach new audiences and sit alongside other high-quality short-form theatre from across the region.

The Talisman Theatre looks forward to continuing its commitment to new writing through future Fringe events—providing a creative springboard for ideas, collaboration, and theatrical innovation.
