Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust has congratulated year 11 students who collected their results yesterday (August 22).

Students at both Kenilworth School and Westwood Academy have done "exceptionally well" with 79 per cent of students at Kenilworth School received grades 9-4 including English and Maths.

Meanwhile at Westwood Academy results were up to 65 per cent in 2024 - a 14 per cent increase from 2023.

There were notable individual successes in both schools with many students achieving an impressive set of top 9 grade passes.

Outstanding achievements at Kenilworth School include Lily Coulter, Rebecca O'Reilly, Isobel Read, and Kyra Spencer.

At The Westwood Academy, notable successes include Brandon Mierzwa, and Chiara Elezi, and Esther Hopkins all of whom achieved an impressive set of grade 9s, with Esther achieving 10 grade 9s and nothing lower.

CEO Hayden Abbott said: "It is an incredibly moving experience to see the joy and happiness on the faces of so many students who achieved these impressive results.

"Many students exceeded their own expectations and are delighted to progress to the next steps.

"I would like to congratulate all students for their hard work and achievements and thank their dedicated teachers for their teaching and support to our students over these last five years."

Headteacher of Kenilworth School Darren Nicholas said: "I am delighted for the students, families and staff at Kenilworth School after another set of exceptional GCSE results.

"It is easy to forget that these students faced significant disruption to their foundation years of learning due to the pandemic. It is therefore highly impressive that students were able to achieve such outstanding results.

"It highlights the students' resilience and commitment to their work as well as the exceptional teaching they are afforded by the dedicated staff. Everyone associated with Kenilworth School should be exceptionally proud."

Sarah Hatch, the incoming Head at The Westwood Academy, said: "I'm delighted to be taking up the role of Headteacher and working with students and staff to build upon the improvements and to be joining the Trust and working closely with the Westwood and Kenilworth communities."
