A Kenilworth Thai restaurant is "very proud" to have received a five-star food hygiene rating, following its first inspection since opening last November.

Nur Nur Paradise on Warwick Road was given the highest rating by the Food Standards Agency following a visit from inspectors in February.

The business - which is run by Lee Wangsalee and Chantana Nimcean - was rated highly for its 'hygienic food handling', 'cleanliness and condition of facilities' and for 'management of food safety'.

Following the announcement, Lee told Nub News: "We are very proud to have received the five-star rating from the Food Standards Agency.

"Since we launched Nur Nur Paradise in November, we have been committed to excellence in everything we do - from our food, to our service.

"This five-star rating shows our commitment to making the restaurant one of the best in Kenilworth."

In the first six months since opening, the Warwick Road eatery has been quick to expand its offering, launching a new lunchtime menu based on traditional Thai Pinto boxes.

Nur Nur Paradise has also launched a takeaway offering, as well as special Tuesday and Sunday deals - allowing customers to try the fusion food at a discounted rate.

And with everything served at the restaurant, Lee and Chantana are bringing a blend of South East Asian spices, to traditional western food.

"People have been really receptive to our food so far," Lee added.

"Our menu is something completely different to anything else in the area.

"Yes, there are lots of traditional Thai dishes, but we also have a fantastic range of fusion food, bringing flavours from Thailand onto western food.

"So far, it has been a big success."
