The latest update on the £38 million A46 Stoneleigh Island works has been released by Warwickshire County Council.

Having started in December 2020, the works will continue until at least summer 2022 and will see a new roundabout, and bridge built at the site.

Since the last update foundation works have almost been completed, and significant traffic calming measures have been installed, including a 50mph speed limit, narrow lanes, as well as lane closures on the slip roads.

The works have seen 66,000 tonnes of earth and material brought to the site to build the new northbound on slip and the western side of the new roundabout.

The road for the southbound off slip is now being built, as the foundation works were completed last month.

The three-way traffic signals have been removed from Dalehouse Lane Roundabout as Cadent Gas finished diverting a major gas main on Stoneleigh Road and Dalehouse Lane.

Trenches and pipes have been installed on the new slip roads to help with drainage.

Construction of the new bridge is expected to start mid-September, this will happen on site by Finham Brook.
