Road closure details have been confirmed for Kenilworth's two Christmas Light Switch On Events.

The weekend's festivities will get underway on Friday (November 24) with the High Street Switch On.

This will then be followed by the event on Warwick Road on Sunday (November 26).

Friday's event will run from 5pm to 8pm, and High Street will be closed from the crossroads with Hill Street to Malthouse Lane from 3pm to 9pm.

For the Sunday event, road closures will be in place from 8am to 11pm.

The following closures will be in place:

  • Warwick Road - from junction with Randall Road to Abbey End
  • Smalley Place - from junction with Barrowfield Lane and Abbey End
  • Station Road - from junction with Abbey Court and Warwick Road
  • The Square: Warwick Road to Abbey End
  • Abbey End: From its junction with car park to rear of shops to The Square

Barrow Road: Closed at its junction with Warwick Road.

The second instalment will have fairground rides available from midday as well as entertainment on stage from 4pm to 8pm.

The lights will be turned on at 6pm.

Both events will be free.

Last year the light switch on events were held for the first time since 2019.

In 2021 the event was cancelled on the day due to bad weather, and in 2020 the switch-on was a virtual one with residents encouraged to turn on their own lights at the same time.

Details of the road closures, stalls and entertainment for the switch-ones will be announced closer to the time.
