A reopening date for Kenilworth's Tesco is still yet to be announced, some two months after an arson attack at the shop.

The Leyes Lane shop remains closed following the incident on September 30, during which thieves attempted to break into the outside ATM.

Extensive damage was caused to the supermarket, which has been boarded up ever since.

While work on site to reopen the Tesco has begun, the company is still yet to confirm when it will reopen - with Nub News previously reporting it is likely to remain shut for many months.

The fire came just weeks after the Tesco store had received a major refurbishment.

The fire also caused the neighbouring store - The Bakers Dozen - to close temporarily with smoke damaging much of its stock.

A report presented to Kenilworth Town Council last month by Kenilworth's safer neighbourhood team said the incident could be part of a series of similar attacks across the region.
