Enquiries are ongoing following the theft of a Royal Mail van in Kenilworth last year.

On the afternoon of November 29 the red van was stolen on Abbey Hill, with police unsure which direction it was driven off in.

A witness appeal was then launched.

And an update from Kenilworth Safer Neighbourhood Team this week said someone was arrested in Coventry within 24 hours of the incident - but the mail was not recovered.

“A silver VW vehicle was seen nearby, within 24hrs officers from patrol investigation and SNT had identified the property where the van was taken to in Coventry and arrested a suspect,” the update said.

“Unfortunately the mail was not recovered but the silver VW was recovered from the property which had been stolen in Coventry the previous week, enquiries are ongoing.”
