Plans to install 50 solar panels at a Burton Green farm have been pulled.

The application which was submitted to Warwick District Council would have seen five rows of panels installed at Stoneymoor Wood Farm, Hob Lane on a piece of land previously used to graze animals.

Applicants Mr and Mrs Elkins said vegetation will be encouraged to grow around the patch, to create "natural screening".

"Mr & Mrs Elkins are committed to reduce their own impact emissions by generating clean electricity with a solar panel installation and battery storage system that will be used to power the property," the application said.

"Generating the energy close to the property significantly reduces transmission losses, calculated to be less than four per cent for the project."

Electricity generated by the panels would have been used to power the house, or stored in a battery system for later use.

No objections had been raised by the parish council, environmental health no ecological services.

Despite this, the plans have been withdrawn.
