A prolific shoplifter who targeted stores in Kenilworth, Warwick and Leamington has been jailed.

Robert Flower, of Dale Street, Leamington appeared at Coventry Magistrates' Court onTuesday 30 April, where he was sentenced to 30 weeks in prison.

Between October 2023 and April 2024, the 39-year-old was identified as being responsible for nine shoplifting offences during which he stole items including skin care products, alcohol, toiletries, razors, and dog coats.

The stolen items were valued at more than £850.

Flower was arrested on Monday when he was seen running from a shop at Shires Retail Part in Leamington having stolen razor blades.

Plain clothed officers in the area swooped to arrest him.

PC Barney Tandy from Warwickshire Police said: "Flower clearly holds no regard for the law having committed so many offences over a sustained period.

"I welcome the sentence handed to Flower, he is behind bars where he belongs.

"This case demonstrates our determination to ensure shoplifters are held to account for their actions. Those committing crime in Warwickshire will be pursued and brought to justice."
