Two local eateries are set to join forces this Sunday (August 27) to bring back the Old Town Beer Festival.

High Street will be taken over by live music, food and of course drinks as The Butcher's Bistro and The Virgins & Castle welcome guests for a day of fun and community.

"The Old Town Beer and Music Festival is a delightful celebration of lots of brews and fantastic tunes set in the heart of our charming historical town," organisers said.

"This festival is a perfect blend of culture, flavour, and entertainment that will leave you with unforgettable memories.

"Immerse yourself in the rich history and rustic charm of our old town as you savour an extensive selection of craft beers from both local and regional breweries.

"Whether you're a beer connoisseur or just enjoy trying new flavours, this festival has something for everyone. From hoppy IPAs to smooth stouts, there's a brew to suit every palate."

Guests will be able to sample 20 real ales and eight ciders at the free community event which will get underway at 12noon and run until 10pm.

Live music will see a range of talented artists head to town, playing everything from soulful jazz to 'foot-tapping' pop.

And High Street will be closed for the day to make space for the festival, and guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs for the day.
