UPDATE: 26-year-old disqualified driver arrested after police pursuit through Kenilworth

A 26-year-old has been arrested after police chased a vehicle through Kenilworth this morning.

Officers attempted to perform a routine stop of the vehicle in Warwick, having suspected the car was stolen.

But it failed to stop and was pursued into Kenilworth.

It eventually stopped on Coventry Road shortly before 12pm.

Whilst the vehicle was searched, it was established the car was not stolen.

However, the driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.

A Warwickshire Police spokesperson said to Nub News: "Police attempted to carry out a routine stop of a vehicle in Warwick shortly before noon today (Friday 25 March).

"The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit followed into Kenilworth.

"The car stopped on Coventry Road.

"A search of the vehicle was carried out.

"A 26-year-old man from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.

"The officers tried to stop the car after suspecting it was stolen – but after checks they established it wasn't."
