Churches in and around Kenilworth will once again be working together to raise money for Christian Aid this May.

This year, the focus of Christian Aid Week is again on climate crisis, together with soaring costs and shortages of food, fuel and fertiliser.

The week runs from 14 May to 20 May and will see organisations across the country raise money for the charity.

The groups have set up a digital envelope to allow the Kenilworth and district community to make their donations as usual.

The Christian Aid Week launch service will be held on Sunday, 14 May at 7.pm at Abbey Hill United Reform Church.

A notice from Elizabeth Kirwan, on behalf of Christian Aid and Churches Together Kenilworth & District, said: "An appeal is made to the community of Kenilworth and District to give generously to support the work of Christian Aid, as you have done in previous years.

"Soaring costs are affecting people here and around the world, such as in Malawi where families are paying the price of this global crisis, as well as coping with the devastating effects of the recent Cyclone Freddy.

"Your donations this Christian Aid Week could help farmers in Malawi plant better seeds, secure a fairer price for the crops, and build happier futures for their children, as well as supporting other vital work around the world."
