Firefighters say they have given details of the culprits behind a number of deliberate fires in Kenilworth to the police, after another blaze had to be dealt with last night.

Crews were called to the incident at Castle Farm yesterday (August 6) evening having already dealt with three fires in Abbey Fields over the past few days.

"Another deliberate fire this evening in the fields behind Castle Farm," a station statement said.

"The police are aware of these fires.

"We have spoken to local residents who know the individuals who are lighting these fires.

"Names have been passed on to the police."

Kenilworth Fire Station was also called to a vehicle fire in Lapworth last night - not thought to be connected to the other incidents - during which time the latest Abbey Fields fire was started.

Meanwhile Henley Fire Station said: "Deliberate fires are extremely dangerous.

"What starts as a small fire can spread quickly, causing serious damage to green areas in communities or even worse, put lives at risk!

"If you discover a fire do not be tempted to investigate.

"Leave the area as quickly as possible and call 999 and ask for the fire and rescue service."
